MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty hepatic hemangiomas in 20 patients and 41 malignant hepatic tumors in 23 patients (33 metastases and eight HCCs) were evaluated with pulse-inversion harmonic US. US images were obtained before injection and every seconds after injection of a 4-g bolus ( mg/mL) of SH U A (a microbubble contrast agent. The basic concept of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) has been confined to the hepatic nodule, which is detected by B-mode ultrasound (US). This is applicable to contrast agents such as SonoVue® [1,2]. However, the use of Sonazoid® in combination with a technique termed defect reperfusion US imaging [3,4,5] has changed the management of hepatocellular carcinoma .
AIM: In this pilot study contrast harmonic imaging was evaluated for the detection and characterization of liver lesions. METHODS: Tumor vascularity patterns and diagnostic accuracy in the differential diagnosis of liver lesions were compared in 50 liver lesions using gray-scale sonography, unenhanced and enhanced power Doppler sonography and CHI. imaging with ultrasound is the initial diagnostic test as it can detect tumors as small as one centimeter. high resolution ct scans and contrast mri scans are used to diagnose and stage these tumors. Background: Coded phase inversion harmonic ultrasonography, a newly available sonographic technique, enables visualisation of slow flow in minute vessels in a real time fashion with the use of a sonographic contrast agent containing monosaccharide. Our purpose was to employ this novel technique to observe microvessels in pancreatic tumours.

Six adult healthy Beagles were used to investigate the hepatic perfusion dynamics of Levovist, a contrast agent used in contrast harmonic imaging (CHI).

Benign hepatic tumors include a broad spectrum of regenerative and true neoplastic processes. Because of advances in imaging studies such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as well as progress in immunohistochemistry, accurate diagnosis can now be made in a large percentage of patients without surgical laparotomy or resection.
Few fields of medicine have witnessed such impressive progress as the diagnosis and treatment of liver tumors. Advances in imaging technology, the development of novel contrast agents, and the introduction of optimized scanning protocols have greatly facilitated the non-invasive detection and characterization of focal liver lesions.
Furthermore, image-guided techniques for percutaneous 5/5(1). PURPOSE: To evaluate contrast agent–enhancement patterns in hepatic hemangiomas, hepatic metastases, and hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) at pulse-inversion harmonic ultrasonography (US) with a microbubble contrast agent.

Contrast‐enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) involves the use of microbubble contrast agents and has played an evolving role in the evaluation of focal liver tumors in the past decade. For liver tumor assessment, CEUS has demonstrated high concordance with contrast‐enhance computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and has been adopted in the Japanese.
Contrast‐enhanced ultrasonography (CE‐US) with Sonazoid enables both dynamic and hepatic parenchymal (Kupffer) phase imaging due to accumulation of microbubbles in the reticuloendothelial cells (4, 5).
CE‐US with Sonazoid has recently been used for the differential diagnosis of hepatic nodular lesions (). Lazzaroni, Digestive and Liver Disease, Vol, ) "This book provides a comprehensive review of the role of diagnostic and interventional radiology in the management of liver tumors.
The aim of this book is to analyze the growing place of liver imaging in diagnosis and treatment of liver : Hardcover. Primary hepatic neuroendocrine tumors (PHNETs) are very rare and their clinical features and treatment outcomes are not well understood.
It is difficult to reach a proper diagnosis before biopsy or resection. The aim of this study was to analyze the imaging features of PHNETs on contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS).
Cancer Imaging presents readers with the most up-to-date imaging instrumentation, general and diagnostic applications for various cancers, with an emphasis on lung and breast carcinomas--the two major worldwide malignancy types.

68,69 In planning for treatment, CT and MR imaging are the primary imaging modalities because of their ability to display hepatic segmental anatomy, the extent of tumor invasion to vasculature, and extrahepatic spread.
Multislice spiral CT is required for liver imaging to be done in a single breath-hold to improve .
